04/03/2012 - Spanish expedition

Recently I have spent a few days in Spain. The old style dark sweet wines of Malaga and the sherries of Jerrez were delicious. But on returning home and sipping one of my favourite Sancerre vintages I mused on what it is that makes Sancerre so special. Is it those delightful floral aromas, or the delicate crispy citru fruit notes, or even the edgy mineral finish. No, rather its the combination of all these characteristics that makes such a highly complex and rewarding wine.
